I have developed a facial to help clients with this battle and it's an absolute pimple fighter! By combining a range of specific products, steam and Ozone therapy as well as traditional high frequency, I'm able to help you improve the appearance of your skin and have you on your way to a clearer complexion.
The facial begins with a traditional steam to warm the skin and open the pores. By opening the pores, the cleanser is able to penetrate deeper into the skin and help to clear out daily pollutants, dirt and make up. A balancing toner is then applied to remove any traces of cleanser.
This is followed by a green clay and honey myrtle facial scrub. This step is dual action as the green clay helps to absorb excess oil and impurities, while the manual exfoliation motion helps to gently remove dead skin cells and build up while increasing the blood flow.
A balancing serum which contains oil is then applied to the skin. Acne suffers are often a little confused when an oil is applied as they are worried it will cause more breakouts. In actual fact, the jojoba oil in the serum mimics the skins natural sebum and can fool the body into producing less oil, thus reducing the occurrence of breakouts.
After the serum has absorbed into the skin, a clean sheer netting or gauze is applied over the face in preparation for the high frequency treatment. High frequency consists of electricity passing through a glass electrode filled with Neon or Argon gas. When applied to the skin, the reaction that occurs caused the Oxygen molecules between the electrode and skin to become unstable and transform into Ozone. Ozone is know for its healing abilities and has an antibacterial and germicidal effect on the breakouts, essentially helping them to dry out.
Following the high frequency treatment, A mask containing Hungarian wellness mud is applied to the skin and left to dry. This mask also helps to draw out impurities as well as infuse the skin with important minerals designed to heal. A short neck and shoulder massage with an essential oil massage medium is performed while the mask dries.
Ozone steam is this applied to soften the mask and remains on while the mask is removed. In the same way as the Ozone during the high frequency works, the Ozone steam continues to dry out spots and promote healing.
To finish, the skin is once again toned to remove any remaining mask and is followed by a moisture lotion to rebalance and rehydrate the skin, and then a nourishing eye treatment is applied to complete the treatment.
I recommend that these facials be performed fortnightly initially, with a top up treatment every other week. Once the skin has improved, it can be done as necessary or monthly to maintain good skin health.
